Stoffel Thijs will officially retire from his position by the end of 2023. Domino's Pizza Enterprises Ltd (ASX: DMP) has today unveiled new leadership for its German division in response to the current CEO's decision to step down from Domino's.
Taking over as the CEO of Domino's Germany will be Alexander Tauer. Stoffel Thijs, the current Domino's Germany CEO, will officially conclude his tenure at the end of the calendar year, and Alexander Tauer, who presently serves as the COO of Domino's Germany, will step into this new role.
Don Meij, Domino's Group CEO & Managing Director, acknowledged Mr. Thijs's remarkable 26-year journey with the company, which began when he joined as a teenage delivery driver. Meij praised Thijs for his leadership during challenging times, such as the global pandemic and soaring inflation. He emphasized Thijs's high-energy, people-oriented, and record-breaking approach, which will leave a lasting impact on the company and its employees.
Meij also expressed gratitude for Thijs's numerous achievements and contributions to the business, wishing him success in his future endeavors. He acknowledged Thijs's legacy, which includes nurturing talent within the company, including his successor, Mr. Tauer.
Alexander Tauer, who has been with Domino's since 2012, has held various key roles in the German division over the past 11 years, including Head of Franchise Operations, Development Director, and most recently, Chief Operating Officer. Tauer expressed his enthusiasm for the new challenge and his commitment to driving sales, increasing customer engagement, and enhancing profitability for German franchisee partners. He plans to leverage his diverse experience within the company to support franchisee growth and success in his new role.
Tauer will report to Andre' ten Wolde, an experienced Europe CEO, who expressed confidence in Tauer's ability to lead the German business. He looks forward to collaborating closely with Tauer in the months and years ahead.
Mr. Thijs will officially conclude his tenure with the company on December 31, 2023, and will work closely with Mr. Tauer during the upcoming months to ensure a seamless transition.
