FICCI Furniture Mission Explores Business Collaboration Opportunities in Singapore

The Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (FICCI) furniture industry mission explored new collaboration opportunities with Singaporean businesses to strengthen bilateral trade in the furniture sector. The initiative focused on sustainability, design, and market expansion, aiming to enhance India-Singapore trade relations. FICCI Furniture Committee Chair Rudra Chatterjee led the delegation, engaging with the Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) to explore avenues for growth in both markets.

SFIC President Phua Boon Huat emphasized the potential for collaboration in sustainability, design, and market expansion. The mission included roundtable discussions and B2B meetings supported by Enterprise Singapore, reinforcing mutual benefits for both economies. The timing of this mission coincided with FIND-Design Fair Asia, which served as a platform for fostering international connections and exploring emerging design trends.

Key members of the Indian furniture industry, including leaders from Hettich India, Wooden Street, Sarva Foam, Obeetee, Homag India, Featherlite Furniture, Sethia Handicrafts, and FICCI's Deputy Secretary General, participated in the mission. This initiative, following an MoU signed between FICCI and SFIC in 2023, invites Singaporean businesses to explore the growing opportunities in India's furniture market, enhancing trade ties and sustainable development between the two countries.
