Ferrara Candy Company Acquisition of Dori Alimentos Marks Milestone Deal

Ferrara Candy Company, a prominent name in the confections industry, has unveiled a significant development: its intention to acquire Dori Alimentos, a leading Brazilian sweets and snacks manufacturer. The acquisition, to be executed through CTH, Ferrara's primary holding company, marks a significant step in the company's growth strategy. Backed by an affiliate of ACON Investments, Dori Alimentos has crafted a remarkable portfolio over its 56 years, featuring iconic brands like Dori, Pettiz, Jubes, and more, resonating deeply with Brazilian consumers.

In the dynamic landscape of confections, Ferrara Candy Company stands as an industry leader, boasting a legacy spanning over 115 years. Privately-owned and headquartered in Chicago, Ferrara is renowned for its top-selling U.S. sugar confections and beloved brands such as Black Forest®, NERDS®, and SweeTARTS®. Pedro Lobo, CEO of Dori, expresses enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the alignment of values and shared vision between the two companies. Marco Capurso, CEO of Ferrara, echoes the sentiment, emphasizing the potential for growth and value creation through this partnership.

The partnership also draws praise from Vitor Barion, Chairman of Dori's Board of Directors, reflecting on the shared journey and the anticipation of seeing Dori play a pivotal role in Ferrara's expansion into Brazil. ACON Investments, a partner in Dori's evolution since 2016, envisions this partnership as an avenue to generate value for all stakeholders.

Upon the transaction's closure, Ferrara's team of over 4,600 employees will combine forces with Dori's 3,100-strong workforce. This union of expertise and passion is poised to drive both companies forward, continuing their commitment to excellence in the confections realm.

The anticipated closing of the transaction is set for the fourth quarter of 2023, pending fulfillment of certain conditions. The coming together of Ferrara Candy Company and Dori Alimentos signifies not just a corporate alignment but also a harmonization of values, innovation, and shared commitment to deliver delightful experiences to consumers globally.
