Grab Partners with London School of Business for Education Programmes

08 Jan, 2025

Grab has partnered with the London School of Business and Finance (LSBF) to offer a range of educational opportunities for its platform partners and their loved ones. This collaboration provides access to eight Diploma and Degree programmes, including English language preparatory courses, designed to be flexible and accessible for Grab's driver- and delivery-partners in Singapore. These programmes, offered through GrabAcademy, aim to empower individuals by equipping them with valuable skills for personal and professional growth. The flexible learning options allow participants to attend classes in person, online, or through a blended approach, making education more attainable for those balancing work and family commitments.

A survey conducted with Grab’s partners revealed that a significant number of participants expressed interest in pursuing tertiary education, primarily to enhance their skills, increase earning potential, and improve employability. To further cater to the unique needs of Grab partners, the partnership with LSBF provides a non-standard entry requirement, considering work experience, which reduces barriers to further education. The programmes also offer learning in Chinese, which is expected to benefit a broader range of Grab’s partners in Singapore.

Grab’s initiative underscores its commitment to lifelong learning for platform workers. With five Diploma programmes, three Degree programmes, and preparatory courses in English, the partnership targets in-demand fields such as business administration, cybersecurity, computer science, logistics, and supply chain management. These courses are designed to address the current workforce's skills gap, offering hands-on, practical learning aligned with industry needs.

To support Grab’s partners, the programme offers additional benefits such as application fee waivers, free trial classes, and complimentary tablets for those who enroll in Diploma or Degree programmes. These efforts make it easier for platform workers to access education without interrupting their income. GrabAcademy’s partnership with LSBF offers a step toward enhancing the career prospects of platform workers and their families.
