Hitachi and Marubeni to Launch Sales and Services Company in Brazil

Hitachi Construction Machinery and Marubeni Corporation have agreed to establish ZAMine Service Brasil Limitada, a sales and services company for mining machinery in Brazil. This joint venture aims to strengthen their presence in the South American market, where mining for copper, iron ore, and gold is expected to grow significantly.

With both companies investing 50%, ZAMine Brasil will provide comprehensive sales and service support for ultra-large hydraulic excavators and rigid dump trucks, ensuring maintenance for existing equipment and promoting new vehicle sales.

This initiative aligns with Hitachi Construction Machinery’s "BUILDING THE FUTURE 2025" plan, focusing on expanding business in the Americas. While the North American market has developed an extensive dealer network, the South American market has seen limited expansion, which this new venture aims to address.

Marubeni Brasil S.A. has led mining machinery sales in Brazil since 2017, and ZAMine Brasil will further leverage this experience to enhance after-sales support. The partnership between Hitachi and Marubeni, which dates back to the 1970s, has seen success in other markets, including Australia and Ukraine. The companies are now focused on restructuring their mining business in South America and aim to achieve a sales revenue of 300 billion yen in the Americas by 2025.
