Huawei released its latest Advanced Driving System (ADAS), claiming it outperforms Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) system. The new ADAS allows vehicles to handle most driving tasks automatically from garage to garage, enhancing safety and convenience.
Alongside this, Huawei launched the Stelato S9, the first model under its luxury brand with BAIC. Priced between RMB 399,800 and 449,800, this full-size luxury sedan targets premium consumers, competing with models like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW’s 7 Series.
The Stelato S9 boasts an 816 km driving range, 3.9-second acceleration, and a drag coefficient of 0.193, the lowest in its segment. It integrates advanced technologies, including a lidar unit, cameras, and radar, enhancing its autonomous driving capabilities.
Huawei’s ADAS offers features like lane switching, toll gate navigation, and public parking lot management without manual engagement. The system promises improved decision-making speed, human-like behavior, and agile automatic emergency braking.
In a demonstration video, Huawei showcased a point-to-point autonomous experience, highlighting the system’s ability to navigate complex urban environments independently. This marks a significant step in Huawei's transition to end-to-end autonomous driving.
BAIC, Huawei's partner, is committed to prioritizing the Stelato S9, with plans to expand production capacity significantly. This collaboration highlights Huawei's ambition to become a major player in the luxury electric vehicle market.
