ICL Expands Global Fertilizer Reach with $170M Deal in China

ICL has announced a major expansion in China with a five-year, $170 million agreement with AMP Holdings Group Co. Ltd., a leading agricultural distributor. This deal, which runs until 2028, is aimed at boosting ICL’s Growing Solutions product line and positioning it for growth in key markets. The agreement focuses on specialty water-soluble fertilizers used in drip irrigation for high-value crops like apples, watermelons, strawberries, and grapes. The partnership includes a minimum purchase commitment and exclusivity terms based on brand and region.

China's growing demand for specialty fertilizers is driven by the rise in high-value crops and shifts in agricultural practices due to extreme weather, varied crop types, and a diminishing workforce. This has led to increased adoption of drip irrigation, making China the largest market for fertigation globally. ICL’s recent innovations include a phosphate and potassium specialty suspension solution for drone application, reflecting the booming agricultural sector in China.

AMP Holdings, a pioneer in irrigation-based specialty products and a longstanding strategic partner for ICL, has been a leader in distributing specialty water-soluble fertilizers in China. This expanded partnership highlights ICL’s commitment to enhancing its market presence and delivering innovative solutions tailored to regional needs.
