IHS Holding Limited (NYSE: IHS), known as IHS Towers, a prominent entity in the realm of shared communications infrastructure, has unveiled a significant one-year partnership with the Limitless Space Institute (LSI), a non-profit organization dedicated to education and research. This partnership, set to commence in January 2024, is geared toward expanding access to space education in two of the company's largest markets.
The collaboration's focal point is to invite 20 educators specializing in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) from Brazil and Nigeria to participate in the year-long Limitless Global Educator Program. These educators will gain access to a meticulously crafted space education curriculum, which will be delivered by experts affiliated with the Limitless Space Institute. The selected educators will be enrolled in the Limitless Global Educator Program and granted access to a tailored Space Education Curriculum developed by experts from the Limitless Space Institute. This curriculum spans a wide array of subjects, delving into the significance of space exploration, the scientific principles underpinning space, its historical context, the economics of space, sustainable exploration, and space ethics. Through this program, teachers will be equipped to inspire their students and future generations with the wonders and intricacies of space.Sam Darwish, the Chairman and CEO of IHS Towers, expressed his excitement about this partnership and underscored the company's commitment to strengthening educational opportunities, particularly in the realm of STEM subjects. Kaci Heins, Director of the Limitless Space Institute, also shared her enthusiasm for this collaboration, emphasizing the organization's mission to elevate global STEM education and inspire the next generation to explore beyond our solar system. With the right resources, educators can guide students toward STEM disciplines centered on space. Marco Antonio Chamon, President of the Brazilian Space Agency, commended IHS Towers and the Limitless Space Institute for their outstanding initiative in advancing STEM education related to space for educators in Brazil and Nigeria.
