New CEO Propels Solarpack Towards EUR-1bn Business in Germany

Spanish solar developer-operator Solarpack announced on Thursday the appointment of Robert Hienz as the CEO of its German unit, marking a strategic move towards building a EUR-1-billion business in Germany. With over two decades of experience in the renewable energy sector, Hienz brings valuable expertise, having previously led a multi-million sales business at German energy group E.ON SE (ETR:EOAN) and served as the CEO of The Mobility House, a smart charging solutions provider.

As per information available on Solarpack’s website, the company is yet to establish an office or initiate projects in Germany. However, it aims to solidify its presence by creating a EUR-1-billion business in the country, with plans to develop a portfolio comprising 7 GW of multi-technology renewable energy projects and 1 GW of power purchase agreements (PPAs) by the end of 2026.

Effective May 6, Hienz will assume the role of CEO, tasked with crafting and executing Solarpack's market strategy in Germany. His responsibilities will encompass driving both organic and inorganic growth initiatives for the company in the region.
