PETRONAS Teams Up with SIM Distribuidora for Brazil Fuel Stations

Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS) has launched its first brand licensing initiative in Brazil, partnering with SIM Distribuidora to operate three pilot fuel retail stations. Located in key urban areas, these PETRONAS-branded stations will offer high-performance fuel solutions including PETRONAS Primax™ fuel, which features proprietary additive technologies, and PETRONAS Syntium™ lubricants. These products are inspired by the company’s technology used in Formula One racing, promising enhanced performance for everyday drivers.

This marks PETRONAS' initial foray into brand licensing for global retail markets. By collaborating with established independent fuel retailers like SIM, PETRONAS aims to leverage their operational expertise while introducing its advanced fuel formulations and services to new markets. The partnership also provides PETRONAS with an opportunity to tap into Brazil’s extensive vehicle fleet and expand its customer base.

The stations are expected to bring PETRONAS’ award-winning Fluid Technology Solutions™ to Brazilian consumers, offering them a unique experience influenced by racing technology. SIM, an existing PETRONAS lubricant distributor with a network of 540 stations, will handle the financial and operational aspects of these new fuel stations, showcasing a strategic move for both companies in the Latin American market.
