PepsiCo, the US multinational food and beverage giant, has initiated the construction of its first food production base in Xi'an, Northwest China's Shaanxi province. This new facility, representing a significant investment of $180 million, is PepsiCo's fifth major venture in China over the past five years. The plant is designed to meet international "net-zero emissions" standards, reflecting PepsiCo's commitment to sustainability. Trial operations are slated to begin in September 2025, with an expected production capacity of approximately 25,000 tons to meet the rising market demand across seven provinces in Northwest China.

She emphasized PepsiCo's commitment to accelerating its investment in China, with this new plant being part of a broader strategy to establish five new facilities in five years. The goal is to deliver higher-quality products to Chinese consumers and contribute positively to the local economy.
Tse reiterated PepsiCo's dedication to deeply integrating with China, leveraging its extensive industrial chain to support China's economic and social progress. This strategic move highlights PepsiCo's long-term vision and dedication to the Chinese market.
