The Colombia-Brazil Business Forum, held in Bogotá, witnessed a significant collaboration between Presidents Lula and Gustavo Petro. Organized by ApexBrasil, in partnership with the Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (MDIC), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), and ProColombia, the forum brought together business leaders from key economic sectors in both countries, focusing on technology, services, energy transition, and food security.
ApexBrasil's president, Jorge Viana, emphasized the event's strategic importance, with over 1,500 opportunities for Brazilian exports identified in Colombia. ProColombia’s president, Carmen Caballero, highlighted the potential for increased trade and tourism between the two nations, promoting South America as an economic powerhouse. Key participants included representatives from SEBRAE, the Brazilian Industrial Development Agency (ABDI), and various government officials.
ApexBrasil's Export Qualification Program (PEIEX) has also supported handicrafts exports, with recent efforts focused on expanding small and medium-sized enterprises into international markets. The forum's focus on fostering bilateral trade, attracting investment, and enhancing partnerships underscores the growing economic synergy between Brazil and Colombia. This event marks a pivotal moment for both nations, as they aim to strengthen cooperation and promote mutual economic growth.
