Punch Powertrain Acquires German TEG, Expanding Its Automotive Technology Expertise

Punch Powertrain has acquired TEG, a German engineering company near Wolfsburg, expanding its presence in the German automotive market. The acquisition includes TEG’s 71 employees and its established reputation as a transmission developer and hydraulics specialist, serving major German automakers like VW, Daimler, and Audi.

This strategic move strengthens Punch Powertrain’s R&D capabilities by transferring some ongoing development projects from its main R&D center in Belgium to the newly named Punch Powertrain Germany GmbH. TEG’s experience in prototyping and small series production, including work for luxury brand Bugatti, adds valuable expertise to Punch Powertrain’s portfolio.

The acquisition not only expands Punch Powertrain’s customer base and product offerings but also addresses the company’s need for skilled engineering personnel to support its rapid growth. The Flechtorf location will continue its existing activities and further support R&D projects while aiming to grow its workforce and production capabilities.

This development positions Punch Powertrain to enhance its presence in the German market and continue its expansion in the global automotive industry.
