A Saudi delegation, under the leadership of Minister of Commerce Majid Al-Qasabi, wrapped up a productive three-day visit to Singapore with the aim of bolstering trade exchange and fostering economic partnerships between the two nations, as reported by the Saudi Press Agency.
During the visit, Minister Al-Qasabi engaged in a series of ministerial meetings, further strengthening diplomatic and economic ties. These meetings included discussions with key Singaporean officials such as Minister for Education Chan Chun Sing, Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim Yong, Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade and Industry Tan See Leng, and Minister for Social and Family Development Masagos Zulkifli.
The Saudi delegation, consisting of 36 officials, embarked on visits to the Asia Competitiveness Institute and Tuas Port, recognized as the world's largest fully automated port. These visits facilitated discussions with Singaporean companies, focusing on enhancing cooperation within the services sector.
The highlight of the visit was the Saudi-Singapore Business Forum, jointly organized by the Federation of Saudi Chambers and the Singapore Business Federation. This forum served as a platform for fruitful discussions and networking opportunities, further solidifying economic partnerships between the two countries.
The delegation included representatives from 14 government agencies, underlining the broad spectrum of interests and sectors involved in this important visit.
Minister Al-Qasabi also had the privilege of meeting with female leaders actively participating in the Women Future Leaders Program for the Logistics Sector. This program, presented in collaboration between the Saudi Logistics Academy and the Singapore Supply Chain and Logistics Academy, aims to empower and prepare leaders within the logistics sector.
During the visit, Minister Al-Qasabi received an insightful briefing on the program and its anticipated outcomes. Abdullah Al-Abdulkarim, the executive director of the Saudi Logistics Academy, highlighted that this initiative is fully supported and cost-free, sponsored by the National Industrial Development and Logistics Program. Its primary objective is to equip and empower leaders within the dynamic logistics sector, fostering growth and innovation in the industry.
The successful visit to Singapore reflects the commitment of both nations to strengthen economic ties and explore opportunities for collaboration across various sectors, ultimately benefiting both Saudi Arabia and Singapore.
