Shenzhen Sci-Tech Park strengthens innovation ties within the GBA

Three top-tier international sci-tech innovation institutions were unveiled at Shenzhen Park of Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, marking significant progress since the zone's development blueprint was released by the State Council a year ago. Positioned strategically between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, the Hetao zone aims to drive the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Attracting over 160 high-end scientific research projects and 15,000 professionals, the zone has become a hub for innovation.

Key players like China Resources, in collaboration with Southern University of Science and Technology, are establishing a national-level research platform in the zone. Additionally, the debut of the GBA National Center of Technology Innovation’s international headquarters and a joint laboratory by the International Digital Economy Academy underscores the zone's focus on biopharmaceuticals, high-performance materials, and intelligent robotics.

The zone's role in fostering collaboration between Shenzhen and Hong Kong is further strengthened by the involvement of SOEs, foreign companies, and international industry organizations like Apple, Siemens, and the World WLAN Application Alliance. The Hetao zone is poised to be a crucial hub for scientific and technological innovation in the Greater Bay Area.
