TrinaTracker's Global Expansion Continues with New Facility in Brazil

TrinaTracker, a leading provider of smart tracker solutions and a subsidiary of Trina Solar Co., Ltd (SHA: 688599), has inaugurated a state-of-the-art smart tracker manufacturing facility in Salvador, Brazil. This new factory boasts an impressive annual production capacity of 2.5 gigawatts (GW), significantly bolstering TrinaTracker's global production capabilities to meet the surging demands of its expanding business operations.

This marks TrinaTracker's third global manufacturing site dedicated to smart tracker production, with a specific focus on manufacturing tracker components and intelligent control systems. The primary objective of this venture is twofold: first, to ensure compliance with Brazil's stringent local content requirements, and second, to enhance the efficiency of product delivery and on-site services across Latin America.

Ma Weiming, President of Trina Solar's tracker division, emphasized the strategic importance of Brazil, stating, "Brazil is a key strategic market for TrinaTracker. In the previous year, over 7 GW of solar tracker systems were deployed in Brazil, representing approximately 10% of the global total. Establishing local manufacturing capabilities in Brazil enables us to offer cost-effective solutions to local projects, reduce delivery lead times, and enhance service quality throughout project construction and operation and maintenance (O&M) phases. Moreover, with local production facilities in place, end-users gain access to credit lines from BNDES/BNB to facilitate financing for their solar endeavors."

In conjunction with the new manufacturing plant, TrinaTracker has formed dedicated engineering teams stationed throughout Latin America, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Mexico. These specialized teams are poised to provide superior support in engineering design, project delivery, and O&M services, thus elevating the overall quality of project engineering. By the end of July, TrinaTracker had already dispatched more than 3 GW of smart trackers to Latin America. Notably, the 520 MW Santa Luzia Complex Project Phase I, one of Brazil's largest photovoltaic power plants, relies entirely on TrinaTracker solutions, including Vanguard 1P trackers and its intelligent tracker control systems.

As the deployment of solar tracker systems in ground solar power plants surges worldwide, coupled with evolving business models, developers and plant owners increasingly seek localized supply and service capabilities from tracker suppliers. In alignment with Trina Solar's global business strategy, TrinaTracker is committed to advancing its global localization initiative by establishing regional teams for research and development (R&D), engineering, delivery, and service. This strategic move aims to offer global customers products compliant with local regulations and standards while enhancing the lifecycle services provided for TrinaTracker products.
