The US-China Business Council (USCBC) met with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) in Washington, led by CCPIT Chairman Ren Hongbin. This meeting aimed to reinforce ongoing dialogue and collaboration between the two organizations. USCBC, representing over 270 American companies in China, expressed appreciation for CCPIT's support in advocating for American business interests.
USCBC President Craig Allen highlighted the productive nature of the recent trip to discuss reforms and market opening measures in China. He emphasized the shared commitment to an open economy and a level playing field, which are crucial for ensuring transparent, fair, and stable markets in China. Allen noted the importance of addressing industrial overcapacity and boosting domestic consumption, as outlined in the July 30 Politburo meeting guidance. This approach is seen as essential for balancing and enhancing confidence in the Chinese economy both domestically and with international partners.
The meeting underscored the collaborative efforts to support American businesses in China and foster a more favorable trade environment. The continued partnership between USCBC and CCPIT reflects a mutual dedication to advancing economic reforms and addressing market challenges.
