Chinese Vice President Han Zheng played a pivotal role at the 16th China-Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Business Summit held in Beijing, where he addressed the opening ceremony.

Han Zheng underscored the growth and significance of China-LAC trade and investment cooperation, emphasizing that these endeavors have expanded in scale, scope, and depth. He described China and LAC countries as development partners working towards mutually beneficial cooperation.

The future holds great promise for collaboration between the Chinese and LAC economies, driven by their high degree of complementarity and vast opportunities for cooperation. Han urged both sides to strengthen their commitment to deepening political mutual trust, fostering people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and bolstering cooperation in economic and trade, agriculture, infrastructure, medical and healthcare.

Furthermore, he called for joint efforts in creating new cooperative ventures in areas such as climate change mitigation, energy transformation, and the digital economy. These initiatives, he noted, would contribute to global stability and positivity.

Han expressed China's readiness to work closely with LAC countries in advancing high-quality Belt and Road cooperation, propelling the development of China-LAC relations in a new era, and forging a China-LAC community with a shared future. The ultimate goal is to bring greater benefits to the people of both regions.

The two-day summit, themed "Open Innovation, Shared Development," convened over 1,000 participants, including government officials, leaders of international organizations, and representatives from the business sector, representing China and various LAC countries.
